[ There aren't words for the way this feels. Katniss has seen death before in plenty of forms but death remains an unmanageable thing when in the immediate face of it. She should have figured out a way onto the train the moment she knew he was there. It's not as if they hadn't had the equivalent to a warning; the little girl's death, and then the others in succession separated by hours but always alone and bloody. Katniss doesn't think to wait for anyone or to ask for anyone else's help. Getting to Cinna is what matters. As far as she knows, as far as anyone has let her know, Cinna is alive in her timeline. If people die here, they say that they get stuck, but it's not a new decision she needs to make -- that she won't let it stay that way.
She once told Cinna she thought he could be her friend. It was the truth.
And it means more than the words allow for really, more than her thoughts or her heart acknowledge but it's important. Cinna is important.
The last thing she could do would be to leave him like that. ]
[ ooc; crewmates feel free to try to contact her via device post or here if that's cool with dawn...she does have it on her, but you know Katniss...running off.....etc. Sigh. ]
