Well, since you can all see we're open this morning, I'll invite you down. I'll even make you a bargain, come by sometime today and with every purchase, I'll give you a discount at the salon.

[It's been a few days since Harry's departure—and about a week for everyone else. Ginny is through avoiding most people, though she cannot and will not be drawn to speak of anything beyond "I'm fine" if friends try to dig deeper. Be that as it may, she finds herself stopping as she passes Cinna's shop on a morning walk; and before she can change her mind, she walks in to find him.

She doesn't say hello, simply comes up to his side and comments in a soft voice,]

Hot chocolate's my favourite. [She'd received the package of gifts yesterday.] How'd you guess?

It didn't take long for Mercy to make her way down there. She was dressed, as usual, in jeans and a t-shirt. Her long black hair was braided out of the way.

"Hey, I'm Mercy. I just talked to you a little while ago?"

[But it isn't. Maybe a few days ago, she would have shrugged out from under his arm. Maybe a few days ago, she wouldn't have even walked in here, let alone struck up a conversation. And there is still some tenseness to her shoulders but she doesn't draw away, simply offers an uncharacteristically subdued, if brief, smile.]
