[There's a clatter as the device falls to the ground, showing the morning light through the windows of passionné. As Cinna picks it up, you can see the various racks, ready for customers, and in the background, you can hear the gurgle and hiss of the morning crowd filtering into cafe satiné.

You can hear him chuckle as he realizes that the device clicked on.]

Well, since you can all see we're open this morning, I'll invite you down. I'll even make you a bargain, come by sometime today and with every purchase, I'll give you a discount at the salon.

Number four (http://blog.cessoviedo.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/02/Stop-Being-Afraid-Outfit.jpg) got a laugh out of her. "I'm not sure that's really me, but Jack would love it. He'd get a kick out of me being some motorcycle chick."

She looked at the shoes in the fifth (http://resources.shopstyle.com//uim/y2011/d279/a9/a94f2ba6bd0dd4b39fe982ad1ff9b8c0.jpg) and grinned at Cinna. "I'd kill myself in those, but the outfit looks perfect."

And the sixth (http://blog.cessoviedo.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/02/Blue-Plaid-Outfit.jpg)? Well, he couldn't have picked something more Mercy.

"This is pretty amazing," she said. "I wouldn't have thought you could pull stuff that fast without knowing me."

They are, I think everyone's taking advantage of the momentary pause between curses. Are you?

[He sips at his tea, happy to engage in casual conversation to distract her. Or sit in silence if that's what she prefers.]

[She glances down at her drink with a bit of a frown, biscuit pieces still held between her thumbs and forefingers.]

I suppose I'm lucky enough to avoid being affected half the time. [Or she's just distracted.] How long've we been, er, curseless?

Cinna made mental notes as Mercy went through the pieces, adjusting expectations and running through his inventory in his head. "It is my specialty, dear, I have some skill. I mostly listened to how you described yourself. Now, try a few of these on and we'll see how good I rally am. Judging size via network posts is a tricky business. Luckily, you did some recent sunbathing I was able to look up."

With that he heads out, intending to pull some additional sets together as Mercy changed.

Not counting the recent weather change, nearly two weeks by my guess?

[The weather change was hardly worth noting it happened so often. And really, it was hard to view that as a curse although his winter coat sales had tanked temporarily.]

[She pauses, a faint smile crossing her features for a moment. Summer in the winter always happens, doesn't it? The memory that Cinna's words sparks is bittersweet now; even so, she finally takes a bite of that bit of biscuit in her hand.]

And well into January, then? Odd choice for the deities. [She pauses again, considering. Then, completely straight-faced and matter-of-fact,] Probably still recovering from some office holiday party.

[She grins and takes a deep breath then does as he suggests, going to get tea.]

[Honestly, everything electronic or mechanical in the flat has been taken apart and put back together in some way, shape or form. She buys new things knowing they're going to be taken apart. The Doctors need things to tinker with.]

No, I'm fine, Rose, get yourself settled and then I'd like you to do a quick shoe inventory, see if there are any gaps we need to fill, I'd like you to send an order to the production warehouse for Monday morning if at all possible.

[It was a sign of trust that he was letting her place orders now, but she'd been very trustworthy and a great help. Plus she understood the fashions that seemed to be popular with a great deal of the city's residents, having come from a similar world.]

Mercy couldn't quite help blushing as she tried on the outfits. It's not that she hadn't known the post was open to the whole network, but to have someone say that used it to judge her size...

They all felt reasonably well, though she wasn't quite sure the skinny jeans should really be that skintight, even if they were comfortable. But it was the black top that she most loved. She kept turning to look at herself in the mirror.

"Do you maybe have some sort of black skirt that would go with this," she asked. "I... this is wonderful."

She also told Cinna at the affair at City Solutions that she'd show up soon and here she was. Feeling just flat out awkward and refusing to show it. Considering she never used her money for anything other than stuff for the house, she hoped she had enough to get something amazing. She'll take some time to look at everything before seeking assistance.]
