So, correct me if I'm misunderstanding, but these alterations - they weren't voluntary? You all just woke up with them? Because I've seen fads catch like wildfires before, but this seems a bit much.

[There's a pause that seems as if he's somewhere watching someone pass him by.] You need some color variation in the glint and glimmer, perhaps some subtle shading? People aren't meant to be alabaster-diamond statues, they do have facial features that need highlighting lest they start to look like sparkly lumps. Perhaps the Deities would like some advice for future alterations?

Which brings me to the point of this message...

For those I haven't had the pleasure of meeting, my name is Cinna. I'm a designer and stylist of some repute back home and am looking to build a portfolio here. Seeing as this appears to be the major venue of communication for this place I thought I'd ask if there are any shops available I can work out of. I'd like to come to some kind of arrangement as I haven't the supplies or equipment here to go into business for myself quite yet.

And on a more personal note, Peeta and Katniss, I've found a lovely apartment here in the City proper, with a pleasant view and easy access to a number of locations. It's also quite quiet as there seem to be a number of vacancies nearby... on the off chance you should be interested. Not that your current residence doesn't have its... charm, but the sand does get everywhere, doesn't it?

People start their own shops all the time. When my brothers were here, they were working on opening a joke shop, and I helped a few other friends with selling sweets and potions, too. It's not too difficult.

That's a relief to hear.

Can't say I've ever met a designer, though.

Well now you can, Miss Ginny, was it?

Ginny Weasley, that's right. Just Ginny's fine, though, honestly. Otherwise it's like one of my professors followed me here.

A student, are you? What do you study?

[Well, this will be interesting.]

Magic.

[There's no comment. A) because they've had this conversation and B) because he's been her long enough to doubt his position.

Not that he's going to admit that. Not yet.]

[Ginny releases a soft breath that almost sounds like a laugh.]

I know, I know. We don't have to talk about it, mind you.

I rather think we talked enough about it in our previous conversation.

Right. Well. We have, er, normal subjects too. History and all that. So it's not entirely unusual, I suppose.

[Pause.]

Anything in specific you design, then? You're not the sort to put magenta robes on gingers, are you, because my brothers look appalling in that colour.

Clothing, make-up, hair, whatever is necessary to make a person look their best.

...it sound apalling.

I'm fairly certain they designed those robes themselves. Probably picked magenta on purpose to stand out or something absurd like that. I wouldn't know, really, I never much cared for clothes or make-up and things like that.

[A touch hastily,]

But I'm sure it's very enjoyable.

No one job is for everyone. I, for example, can't cook, but there are those who do it magnificently. I appreciate and partake of their talent, while not really caring about the mechanics of it.
